In warmer climates like southern California, it grows vigorously year-round with moderate water. Its primary uses are culinary: the young leaves add a bright, tangy zest to salads, soups, sauces (especially for fish), and stir-fries, often preferred over common sorrel for its milder acidity and refined taste.
